The US Play Coalition is now accepting proposals for Educational Sessions, Poster Presentations and the Play Research Symposium at the 2020 Conference on the Value of Play: PLAY FOR ALL. The conference will be held March 29 – April 1, 2020, at Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina.
“PLAY FOR ALL” will explore play across the lifespan and address universal issues of access, equity, inclusion, health and more.
The latest research and practices in the field of play will be presented at the play conference, which brings together play researchers, park and recreation professionals, camp professionals, educators, health scientists, architects, landscape architects, business and community leaders, psychologists, physicians, museum professionals, students and parents from across the U.S. and beyond.
At the Conference on the Value of Play, we have long relied on scholars, practitioners and industry leaders to share their expertise on various aspects of play.
Research Symposium Sessions will be grouped by topic. Presentations should be only 15 minutes long as they will be one of 2-4 presented in a block. A 15 minute Q&A will follow the series.
Educational Sessions are interactive and aimed at practitioners. These Educational Sessions are 50 minutes long including Q&A.
Poster Presentations will display from Sunday through the Tuesday closing banquet to maximize visibility. Poster presenters are expected to accompany their posters during the pre-banquet reception on Tuesday.
See “Session Themes and Other Important Details” below.
A special note about registration fees for conference presenters:
Please understand that conference registration fees help to pay for the venue, catering, conference supplies, rentals and all related services as well as fund our operating expenses throughout the year. Unlike many other non-profit professional organizations, we do not have membership fees. We seek to keep costs to a minimum and affordable to as many people as possible. Although our conference costs are rising substantially, our registration fees have been raised only minimally. We appreciate everyone’s professional contributions, and our conferences are highly participatory – more than 60% of all attendees are also presenters or otherwise actively participating in the conference program. In order to keep the US Play Coalition operational, the dollars of each and every participant are needed, too.
Deadline for submissions is 11:59 EST on October 15, 2019.
Notification of acceptance/rejection: December 20, 2019.
