The “Partners for PLAY” Program is a platform for creating an extensive network of communities to promote, encourage, support, and create play opportunities across the country.
Through our “Partners for PLAY” Program, the US Play Coalition will provide educational opportunities, disseminate play related research, build professional learning communities for community leaders, and spread the message of the Value of play throughout life.
Leaders of each “Partners for PLAY” (PFP) Community will be taught the language and methodologies of play, empowered to understand issues and trends in the play movement, and given educational tools to share play with others.
In 2019 we announced the Charlotte Regional Partners for PLAY, our pilot initiative in the greater Charlotte, North Carolina area. Despite setbacks from COVID-19, our Charlotte PFP has become a resource to connect people to play in neighborhoods, communities, and schools in their area. Their experiences are shaping the plans for our future inaugural cohort!
To be eligible, the “Partners for PLAY” Community must be a nonprofit, educational institution, government agency, NGO, or municipality. The “Partners for PLAY” Communities will be selected and vetted through an application process, needing first to meet and then maintain minimum criteria for eligibility for the program year.
